<p>The swathe turner consists of a frame (1) with wheels (4), equipped with a swather lifter (12) set across the direction of travel and driven from a tractor pto shaft (28) through a coupling system (24). The tractor (28) also acts as a power unit for the wheel drive and steering systems (5,6,8,9,10), with the wheels situated furthest from the coupling unit being steerable. The swathe lifter (12) is driven through a propshaft system (32), connected to the pto shaft through an angle-turning unit (34) and a propshaft (36). The wheels are driven by hydraulic motor/reduction gear units (5,6) and chain and sprocket transmission mechanism (8,9,10).</p> |
