Pressure swing adsorption process

A continually-operated alternating pressure absorption process makes use of two or more adsorption units working in transposed phases. Each unit alternates between 'absorption' and 'desorption' interspersed by pressure-compensation and/or rinsing phases. The novelty is that in the event of the failure of a valve or valve seal required to operate the pressure compensation and/or rinsing phase, the series of valves in this line is taken out of service, and the number of pressure compensation and/or rinsing phases in reduced by one phase.
