The station comprises a gas-turbine-powered generating set (40,41,46), whose exhaust heats a steam-generator (8). Water flows in the opposite direction through the generator. The steam from the water is delivered by pipe (6) to a steam-turbine or other consuming unit (30). The water is fed by pipe (11) with regulator valve (20) directly into the steam-generator. Where the fuels used contain sulphur, the regulator valve is controlled via a thermometer (24) at the exhaust-gas outlet from the steam-generator. The tubing (9) in the final stage of the generator before the exhaust outlet to the flue can be designed to match the generator life, and can be of corrosion-resistant material.
