The equipment includes two calculators (2,3). The first calculator (2) receives data (4) from a map and determines classes of objects such as dark surfaces, dark lines and bright lines within the map as well as their preferred directions. The second calculator (3) receives data (6) from a synthesised aperture airborne radar and also the output from the first calculator. Three calculators (7,8,9) within the second calculator segment the classes of data establishment by the first calculator and produce contiguous straight line primitives for superimposition and matching on the original map. |
