The seal comprises a foot (3) which has a protruding ridge (5) fitting into a groove (19) in the window. The foot and hollow head (2) are joined by a profiled spine (4) from which protrude a lip (6) covering the groove. A support arm (11) leads into a sealing arm (9) which protrudes freely at a point set apart from its join to a transverse arm and from its freely protruding end. The support arm curves away from the profiled spine, when pressure is not exerted on the seal (12). The support arm leads into a connecting arm (13), at its end facing away from the sealing arm. The connecting arm slopes from the spine towards the covering lip and, at its other end, leads into an intermediate arm (6, 16).
