FIELD: powder metallurgy, in particular, production of billet of undefined thickness and shape from powder material. SUBSTANCE: method involves simultaneously filling crystallizer with powder and molten metal in an amount not exceeding 40-55% of weight of obtained mixture; providing pressing and supplying electric discharge; gaging and continuously ejecting billet. Surface of billet obtained is improved by introducing tape, made from metal homogeneous or extraneous to base metal, along two inclined faces of crystallizer, having movable faces, dead bottom pouring cup and tape feeding drums. Doser has rotary inclined gate. Pouring cup has ellipsoidal section with four slit openings inclined at an angle of 15-30 deg downward with respect to horizontal plane to improve moistening of charge surface with molten metal. Ratio of total area Fo of slit openings and central channel area Fk is Fk/Fo = 1.05-1.15. EFFECT: increased efficiency, improved quality of continuous billet by efficient moistening of charge surface with molten metal and reduced production time. |
