FIELD: testing engineering. SUBSTANCE: body 1 to be tested is mounted on an axle and is set in rotation from rest by drum 4 the moment of inertia of which is known as well as by thread 6 wound on the drum and first weight 7 secured to the end of the thread. The first weigh then changes for the second one and the body to be tested is set in rotation from rest by the second weight. The radius of drum 4 where the thread leaves the drum, height from which the weight falls, and weights are measured. The length of the thread that is unwounded from the drum after the moment when the weight stops to fall is also measured. All of measured values are related by equations presented in the invention description. EFFECT: improved accuracy of the method. 1 dwg
