PURPOSE: To accurately detect the position or movement of an ultrasonic wave piezoelectric transducer by a simple mechanism by providing a rotor which is rotated in response to the movement of an ultrasonic scanner, and thereby detecting the rotation angle of the rotor by a position measuring means. CONSTITUTION: When an ultrasonic wave scanner 1 is moved, the operation section 8a of a hollow rotating shaft 8 is slidably rotated with respect to a human body skin, the rotation of the hollow rotating shaft 8 is detected by an encoder 9, and its signal, is taken into a position detecting circuit 19. Switch- over signals are inputted into a switch-over means 16 every specified interval from the position detecting circuit 19, an ultrasonic wave piezoelectric transducer 2 is connected to a transmission circuit 14, and the ultrasonic wave piezoelectric transducer 2 is driven, so that ultrasonic wave pulses are thereby transmitted. And simultaneously, position signals are inputted in a digital scan converter 17 from the position detecting circuit 19. Reflection echo signals taken in a receiving circuit 15 are taken in the digital scan converter 17 so as to be stored in the memory of the digital scan converter 17 together with position signals supplied by the position detecting circuit 19. |
