PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To successively produce cereal bars of comparatively high density such as cookies by filling a prescribed amount of cereal flakes into a corresponding forming mold and exerting plural successive pressure pulses spaced by respective periods in which the pressure is released. SOLUTION: While rotating a drum 2, a prescribed amount of cereal flakes are filled to its cell 9 at a station 3, the cereal bar is formed at a compressing station 4 and the bar A is extruded from the cell 9 to a belt conveyer 55 at a discharging station 5. The pressure element 32 of the compressing station moves in a radial direction with respect to the cell to apply to the cereal flakes the plural successive pressure pulses spaced by the periods in which the pressure is released.
