PURPOSE: To provide a controlling system capable of decreasing the number of output lines, necessitating a small number of output lines even by increasing the number of needle selectors, having a number of needle selectors arranged around a large-sized knitting machine and capable of increasing the number of needle selectors without increasing the number of output lines even if the number is insufficient and the increase of the selectors is necessary. CONSTITUTION: An output signal is transmitted from a pattern-generation controller through a driver circuit 25 built in a needle selector 70 or attached to the outer side of the selector. A plurality of needle selectors 70 are electrically connected with each other. The output signal transmitted from the pattern-generation controller 9 is composed of an address signal to select the controlling site in the plural needle selectors 70 and a pattern data signal and a strobe signal 92 necessary for the control of the needle selectors. The output line electrically connecting the needle selector 70 and the pattern-generation controller 9 is used as an output line for transmitting the address signal 90, the pattern data signal and the strobe signal 92. The controlling site of the needle selector is selected by the address signal 90 while transmitting the strobe signal 92. The pattern data signal is outputted to the selected controlling site to effect the needle selection control of the knitting machine. |
