The device comprises a plate (1) provided on its upper side with a rolled spring (4) which closes around the candle. On the under side of the plate a further rolled spring (5) is provided which expands against the walls (7) of the candlestick hollow space. Each of the two springs is fixed on a guide (3), which runs in a track (2) in the plate. They can be pushed in such a way that the plate is centred over the candlestick and the candle is centred over the plate. All the components are made of steel, iron or other suitable material.
