PRODUCTION OF THERMAL RECORDING MATERIAL

PURPOSE: To easily produce a thermal recording material characterized in that a thermal recording layer has uniform surface smoothness, excellent dot reproducibility and uniform thickness and having excellent secondary processability regardless of the thickness of a support. CONSTITUTION: A thermal recording material obtained by applying a thermal recording layer to a support to dry the same is passed through the nip between the metal roll and elastic roll of a pressure device wherein the metal roll and the elastic roll are brought to a close contact state under pressure by at least a swinging roll so that the surface of the thermal recording layer comes into contact with the metal roll to be subjected to surface treatment.
