PURPOSE: To improve exhaust emission and fuel consumption by limiting the generation of fuel wall flow while atomizing injection fuel. CONSTITUTION: First and second injection valves 11 and 12 each having two injection holes different in diameter are provided opposite to each other in the midway of an air intake passage 6 and a common axial line O-O is placed orthogonally crossing the axial line S-S of the air intake passage 6. A jetting axial line is set such that fuel flows jetted out of the fuel injection valves 11 and 12 clash with each other in an intersection CP away from the wall surface of the air intake passage 6 and first and second fuel sprays F1 and F2 are formed by means of clashing in each intersection CP. These fuel sprays F1 and F2 collide with each other in the vicinity of the axis S-S to form a synthetic fuel spray FT1 and this synthetic fuel spray FT1 is carried by the main flow AM of intaken air.
