摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable a laser dye ablative recording element to be easily and visually disposed by providing the element which shows an optical density of greater than a specific value in each of the ultraviolet and blue regions of a spectrum and a sum of optical densities in the red and green regions of the spectrum of at least upto a specific range or more. SOLUTION: A reprographic photomask is disposed on a photosensitive material like a printing plate and is exposed to a light source. The printing plate cannot be developed in such a way that it is formed of an ink-absorbing region and a non-ink absorbing region. In case the photomask is ablated by a laser action to show the absorption in the region of about 450-700 nm, any selected image dye can be used in an ablative recording element. The element has optical densities of greater than about 2.0 in the ultraviolet and blue regions of a spectrum respectively. A sum of the optical densities of the element in the red and green regions of the spectrum is at least about 1 and upto about 3.0.
