摘要 PURPOSE: To equalize the temp. of a laser machining head to a set reference temp. in a short time by equalizing the heating value of the machining head to a reference heating value and thereby adjusting the temp. of the machining head to the reference temp. CONSTITUTION: A laser machining head 1 is constituted of a housing 5, which is provided with an optical system for converging laser beams from optical fibers 3, and a temp. control jacket 7 on the outer circumference of the housing. The initial flow rate of cooling water, which removes the preceding change of the initial heat quantity and the reference heat quantity, is determined by an arithmetic unit 33 before the emission of the laser beam and is adjusted to that initial flow rate. The heat quantity of the machining head 1 is roughly equalized to the reference heat quantity. After that, the heat quantity change after the laser beam emission and the proper flow rate of the cooling water to remove the change are calculated by the arithmetic unit 33. The flow rate through a flow rate control valve 29 is adjusted at an appropriate time interval so as to be a proper flow rate. Then, the heat quantity of the machining head 1 is roughly equalized to the reference heat quantity, so that the temp. of the machining head 1 is adjusted to the reference temp.
