PURPOSE: To stably and efficiently produce a propylene block copolymer high in stereoregularity and melting point, large in melt flowability, and excellent in rigidity and impact resistance. CONSTITUTION: The method for producing the propylene block copolymer comprises polymerizing propylene or copolymerizing the propylene with anotherα-olefin in the presence of a catalyst containing (A) a titanium-containing solid catalyst component, (B) an organoaluminum compound component and (C) an organic silicon compound component of general formula: Si(OR<1> )2 (NR<2> R<3> )2 (R<1> , R<2> , R<3> are 1-10C hydrocarbon group) in the preceding stage, and subsequently copolymerizing the propylene with the otherα-olefin in a gaseous phase in the following stage without deactivating the catalyst system.
