PURPOSE: To make ozone non-generation period as short as possible in the occurrence of a short-circuit accident of ozone generation tube by halting an inverter when load voltage falls followed by subjecting semiconductor switches to on-control to effect fusing. CONSTITUTION: In an ozonizer equipped with an inverter having a normal conversion section 2 to convert the alternating electric powder from a commercial source 1 into direct current and an inverse conversion section 4 to convert the direct power into alternating current, such a system where fuses 6a-6n and ozone generation tubes 7a-7n are mutually connected in series and a plurality of the resultant sets are, in turn, connected in parallel with one another, and such a load as to feed the alternating output power from the inverter via a voltage-raising transformer 5, there stands further equipped with a detector 11 to detect load voltage drop and semiconductor switches 12, 13 capable of two-way current flow and put on the alternating current circuit connecting the commercial source 1 and the transformer 5. When the detector 11 detects load voltage drop, both the normal and inverse conversion sections 2 and 4 are halted once; concurrently, thyristor switches 12, 13 are subjected to on-control, effecting quick and assured fusing for the fuse corresponding to the occurrence of a short-circuit accident. |
