PURPOSE: To install a belt automatically between pulleys by providing belt holding means and a movable means which moves the holding means to install the one end and the other end of a belt in order to one and the other of a pair of pulleys which are held under the condition that the half part of each pulley is inserted into the groove of the other pulley each other. CONSTITUTION: A first movable frame is moved backward so as to insert the front end part of a belt C into a groove of a follower pulley B and pull it into radial inner side. In this case, holders 47 and 47 of a belt assembly head 4 are rotated to a second rotating position so as to deform in curve the belt C convergently toward the front end part of it. Next it is lowered to a second movable frame 42, and a fixed sheave of a drive pulley A is located under the rear end part of the belt C so as to face the rear end part of the belt C toward the groove of the drive pulley A. In this case, as the belt C inclines, the holders 47 are inclined forward against a spring, and the belt C does not come out of the holders 47. Then the drive pulley A is moved backward by the movement of the second holder so as to insert the rear end part of the belt C into the groove of the drive pulley A. |
