PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent leakage of a fluid during operation and to improve reliability by firmly fitting a ring gear to an actuator body to convert linear movement of a driving member to a rotational movement. SOLUTION: When a fluid flows selectively from a port 86 or 88 in the side end of a piston 58 directing to the main body end 16 or 18 under pressure of working fluid, reciprocal movement is caused in the body 12 of the piston 58. As the selective action of pressure fluid on the piston, the piston 58 and a sleeve 44 which is a part of the piston make axial linear movement in the body 12, an outer helical spline 46 of the piston sleeve 46 is slid to engage with an inner helical spline 48 of a ring gear fixed to the body 12 by welding W, thereby causing roation of the sleeve 44. The linear and rotational movement of the sleeve 44 is transmited through the engagement with an outer helical spline 54 of the shaft middle part 56 and an inner helical spline 52 of the piston to rotate a shaft 20 to the body 12. |
