PURPOSE: To rapidly cover a cable by opening a notch formed along the longitudinal direction of a cable-covering pipe, inserting the cable into the opened covering pipe, and subsequently integrally fixing projected pieces to each other. CONSTITUTION: This cable-covering pipe is produced by disposing a colored coating layer comprising a fluororesin coating on the outer surface of a polyethylene pipe main body 4 through a primer layer, forming a notch 5 in the longitudinal direction of the pipe main body 4, and subsequently disposing a pair of projected pieces 6 on the pipe main body parts faced to the notch 5. The method for covering the cable 2 comprising many bundled steel wires 3 and having a circular cross section with the cable-covering pipe 1 comprises opening the notch 5 of the covering pipe 1, inserting the cable 2 into the opened covering pipe 1, closing the notch 5 to cover the cable 2, and subsequently integrally fixing a pair of the projected pieces 6 to each other to form a projection. |
