PURPOSE: To certainly inform a driver of working failure of a parking device with a motor as a driving source. CONSTITUTION: Driving force of a motor 15 starting by operating a select switch 55 in 'P' range is transmitted to a lock means R through a motive power transmission means D, and when working finish of the lock means R is detected by a limit switch 11, the motor 15 is stopped. An actual working state of the lock means R having finished working is monitored by a stroke sensor 12, and when it is detected by the stroke sensor 12 that the lock means R does not actually work notwithstanding that the select switch 55 is operated in the 'P' range, a warning means 59 works to demand a driver to use a hand brake.
