PURPOSE: To obtain a pile yarn, containing a random copolymer of propylene and anα-olefin other than the propylene as a substrate and having sufficient fibrillation resistance even in an artificial lawn containing sand therein. CONSTITUTION: This pile yarn contains a random copolymer of propylene and anα-olefin (ethylene, 1-butene, 1-pentene, 1-hexene, etc.) other than the propylene as a substrate. Theα-olefin other than the propylene is present in an amount of 1-10wt.%, preferably 2-6wt.% in the copolymer.
