PURPOSE: To reduce the manufacture cost of the whole system by equipping this steering controller with a first control means, which computes the objective steering angle repeatedly in every specified period, based on a sensor signal, and sends it as an instruction value, and a second control means which adjusts the quantity of energization of a drive means, based on its instruction value. CONSTITUTION: This steering controller is equipped with two kinds of steering angle detectors 17 and 20 and car velocity detectors 22 and 23, installed each in different parts, and a yaw rate detector 24, and those output signals are inputted into ECU 9 as the first drive means. Here the objective steering angle is computed repeatedly, and it sends information geared to the objected steering angle as instruction value. Based on the instruction value from this CPU 9 and the quantity of state of a steering system being the object of control, a servo unit SVU as the second control means controls an electric motor 12. SVU also sends an instruction value request signal to CPU 9 in approximately fixed period, and CPU 9 sends the information of instruction value to SVU, answering the instruction value request signal. |
