<p>PURPOSE: To prevent damage to a locking plate driving mechanism when any overload operates on a locking plate in any state, avoid severe trouble even when legs or hands are caught by the locking plate when closed and stop the movement of the locking plate always when closed. CONSTITUTION: A locking plate driving mechanism operates a freely open/closed locking plate 2 with the motive power of a motor 1. Gear trains are laid between the motor 1 and the locking plate 2 and a bidirectional conical clutch which consists of a male member with the outer face a conically tapered and a female member 13 with the inner face conically tapered to be fitted to the male member is provided in the gear trains so that the transmission of overload applied on the locking plate 2 in the open and closed directions can be cut off. A gap is provided between a fixing member, which holds the locking plate 2 when the locking plate 2 is closed, and the locking plate 2. At least one gear in the gear trains has a cutoff portion to disengage the locking plate 2 when closed.</p> |
