This invention is a method of, and apparatus for, sealing punctures into body cavities such as blood vessels using an expandable member (21) in the body cavity on a control member (20) that extends out through the puncture, and an applicator which inserts a preformed sealing material (12) into the puncture over the control member to keep the control member and expandable member centered in the puncture, and withdrawing the collapsed expandable member back through the sealing material after the puncture is sealed. |
