FIELD: production of inorganic substances. SUBSTANCE: invention relates to preparation of titanium-containing products useful in leather-varnish and dye industry, in production of paper, cosmetics, etc. One part of ammonium sulfate is added to solution containing 3-5 parts of titanium oxide and mixture obtained is left to stand for 2-5 h. Precipitate having been separated, filtrate is complemented with crushed mica, mixture is heated to 40-60 C, kept at this temperature for 2-4 h and further 2-6 h at 90-105 C. Mica is then separated and calcined to yield mother-of-pearl dye. After sphene is stripped, calcium silicate residue is pulped in water. A soluble iron salt is added to the pulp in amount corresponding to 5-25% of ferric oxide based on residue weight. Mixture is neutralized to full iron precipitation and filtered. Precipitate is calcined to give iron-containing dye. EFFECT: enhanced efficiency of processing sphene due to reduced durability of operation and utilizing all basic intermediate products and also wastes originated from production of high-quality products. 2 cl, 1 tbl |
