PURPOSE: To obtain the subject accelerator composed of a yeast extract as an active component, activating the synthesis of ceramide in a skin cortex by an epidermal, cell and capable of expecting the improvement of rough skin and the curing of skin diseases by enhancing skin barrier function. CONSTITUTION: This accelerator contains a yeast extract (e.g. a yeast extract for an industrial use) or a bacterial culture product containing the yeast extract as an active component. Examples of the microbial, culture product containing the yeast extract include a cultured product of lactobacillus such as Streptococcus thermophilus and a cultivation product of fungi of a mushroom such as shiitake mushroom. Further, a compounding ratio of the accelerator to a skin external agent is preferably 0.01-0.5wt.% for the yeast extract and 0.1-10wt.% for the microbial culture product containing the yeast extract, each based on the total weight fo the composition. |
