PURPOSE:To receive and pay paper currency in parallel and to utilize case effectively, and to improve the operation efficiency of a system by discriminating received paper currency is forged or not and its kind and then appropriating it to payment. CONSTITUTION:A storage station 8a and a conveyance station 8b are arranged at both ends of the cash handling device 12, a rail 3a is provided between the stations 8a and 8b, and carriers 4a and 4b which carry received paper currency are conveyed on the rail 3a. The received paper currency carried by the carrier 4a is thrown in a slot 10 by a robot arm 9, and a storage discriminating part 11 decides the kind of the thrown-in paper currency and whether it is forged or not. The discriminated paper currency is stored in storage boxes 14a-14c through storage pool parts 13a-13e. The paper currency stored in the storage boxes 14a-14c is taken out to a sending discriminating part 15 under a payment command from a controller and the discriminated paper currency is stored in a sending pool part 19. The bottom part of the pool part 19 is opened to send the paper currency to the carrier 4b, which conveys it to a payment window. |
