FIELD: artillery ammunition. SUBSTANCE: hard-core shell has body, separated sabot, hard-core stabilizer and ballistic cap with symmetrical riflings on its ogive section. Shell is accommodated in guide tube secured with its rear part in the case bottom, and with its front part, thrusts the forcing cone of gun. Propellant charge starts burning on the side of forcing zone to ensure smooth (shockless) shell entering of the gun barrel bore. The offered hard-core shell differs from the known ones in that the shell is given considerably low casual initial and additional disturbances due to elimination of gaps and exclusion of casual (abnormal) effect on one another of interacting members during firing, such as, barrel bore and sabot in loading and in shell entering of the bore, at initiation of propellant charge and in motion over the barrel bore; sabot and shell body - during separation of sabot sectors; stabilizer fins and oncoming air stream. All these lead to considerable reduction of the shell nutation angle from shot to shot that in its turn, increases the accuracy of fire. EFFECT: higher efficiency. |
