PURPOSE: To suppress the temperature change in the interior of a pressure container by a specific method without using a cooler, etc., in the case of treating a material, to which temperature change during pressurizing or depressurizing is unfavorable, under pressure or reduced pressure, for example, in the case of treating an animal or plant cell under pressure. CONSTITUTION: In treating a material 7 to be treated in a pressure container 1 adiabatically under pressure and/or reduced pressure, a mixture 5 which comprises at least two components and in which two phases exist is added to the pressure container 1. Consequently, generation of heat of the material 7 to be treated following change of pressure is offset by latent heat of a phase transformation of the mixture 5 to suppress the temperature change of the material 7 to be treated in the pressure container 1. A two component system comprising water and an alcohol, a ketone an aldehyde, ether or a carboxylic acid is preferable as the mixture. |
