The thermal print head has a support (1), and an electrically resistive line (4) carried on the support and positioned at the ends of a first set (3) of parallel conductors (31-37). These conductors terminate at a common supply conductor (2). A second set (5) of parallel conductors (51-57) extend from the resistive line (4) to multiple electronic switches (7). The second set of conductors are grouped in pairs, with each pair connected by a single line (61,62,63) to a switch. The printer forms each character from groups of 5 points, and has two integrated circuits each controlling 64 outputs. Each of the outputs is connected to one of the conductors from each pair of connections. Conductors corresponding to the space between characters are not connected in the same way. |
