Calibration system for radiometer mounted on board satellite

The system is intended for calibration by measuring the solar radiation during the flight of a terrestrial satellite. The satellite carries a radiometer (10) which is subject to the solar radiation via calibrating device (26) consisting of a diffuser (34). The device operates for a given angle of incidence of radiation w.r.t. the radiometer. The measured value of the diffused radiation is compared with a value which is held as a reference created during calibration of the radiometer on the ground. The measurements are repeated several times during the year, when the satellite is in predetermined positions defining the required angles for measurement.
