PURPOSE: To provide a low-cost printing plate having high accuracy and durability to print many sheets by simplifying conventional complicated printing plate- making steps, and provide farther a method for manufacturing the plate. CONSTITUTION: In a printing plate which is made of a molding of thermoplastic resin having open-cells, the printing surface of the plate is formed of an image which has protrusions having open-cell openings and recesses in which the number and/or the diameter of the open-cell opening are reduced. The porosity of the molding is 20 to 90%. The diameter of the open-cell of the plate is 1.0 to 200μm, and the recess is formed by emitting a light or heating.
