PURPOSE: To provide stable print quality by using, for a diaphragm, a resin material having excellent elastic modulus, strength, rate of thermal dimensional change at high temperature, and gas permeability so as to heighten responsivity to piezoelectric elements and restrain generation of foam in an ink. CONSTITUTION: In a head of an ink jet printer, a diaphragm 50 is formed of a resin material having a tensile elastic modulus of 400kg/mm<2> or higher, a tensile strength of 20kg/mm<2> or higher, and a rate of thermal dimensional change of 20×10<-6> cm/cm. deg.C or lower. The diaphragm 50 is arranged in between ink chambers and piezoelectric elements 40 for partitioning them and prevents the piezoelectric elements 40 from coming into contact with an ink. The diaphragm forms the ink chambers 31 and has a role to transmit pressure to the ink chambers 31.
