The edge (10) of the shoe upper (2) is turned inward on the side of the base (4) of the shoe and sewn to the base of the shoe by the side seam ridge (14). The upper is closed at the top and can be opened. Seam openings (16) between the seam ridge and the interior of the shoe in the shoe base slope inwards away from the vertical. The base of the shoe has, to one side and above the seam ridge, an upward pointing part (18) forming a sealing lip (19) and at least partly covering the upper in the transition with the inward turned edge part.
