Tomographic X=ray scanning system with CCD imaging

The system consists of an X-ray generator (2), an imaging device (3) consisting of a CCD (3c) and ancillary equipment. A swing arm rotates the X-ray generator and imaging equipment about the subject. It has an image store (36) and a comparison store (37). After a tomographic image is taken, an image taken with a dark current setting on the X-ray generator is subtracted from the first image. Then the image is processed with sensitivity correction factors. The resultant image is then delivered with reduced noise and sensitivity variation.
