Balloon probe anal stimulus and measurement probe

The device uses galvanic stimulation and permits generation of an electromyogram of the closure muscle strength. It consists of a balloon probe which may be inserted as far as the end piece (16). The pressure membrane (13) is made of an electrically conducting material, as is the shaft (17). The pressure membrane (13) is of a thin walled elastic sleeve of maximum 1.5 mm thickness. The pressure inside the sleeve is a measure of the contraction force of the anal sphincter.
