Slide shell for joint endoprosthesis

The bearing slide shell is conceived as a spiral (10) and in several windings encloses the ball of the ball joint (12). The inner and outer surfaces of the slide shell (13,14) serve as slide surfaces acting on both sides and permit relative movements. The lowermost spiral winding (15) prevents luxation of the joint ball out of the socket location. The lowermost spiral winding of the slide shell material dimensions are such that the joint ball under tensile stress (19) presses this lowermost spiral winding against the inner walling of the socket in the vicinity of the socket opening.
