Secondary electric lamp-post type light for roadways and public places

The electrical lighting unit which is intended for external use has a post or mast with a base section and a tubular upper section that houses a light transmitting prism tube 5. This transmits light produced by a lamp 11 in a socket in the base such that it is readily accessible. The prism tube is encased in a reflective foil and at the top of the mast a fluorescent foil 10 is used. The end of the tube has a lens and the emitted light is directed onto surface of a reflector dish 4. The base section contains the starter circuitry 13 and a cable connection point 15 e.g. for high pressure sodium or metal halogen vapour lamps
