AN ACTUATOR FOR A CHAIR MECHANISM LOCK

An actuator (1) for a chair mechanism lock has a first arm (10) pivoted to the mechanism housing (2) and to a second arm (30). The second arm (30) engages a bolt head (4) of the lock. A handle (18) extends from the first arm. A front face (15) defines an upper, closed limit position of the arms, and an inner surface (13) defines a lower, open position. The user may move the arms from the open position by pulling the handle (18) up to bring the arms through an in-line position and then over-centre to the closed position at which the second arm (30) presses against the bolt head (4).
