Prodn. of hydraulically active binder from mechanically prepd. waste materials in the form of fibre-binder combination asbestos cement comprises treating the asbestos cement as potential secondary raw material and essential component of raw dust to mfr. of the mineral binder alinite cement, with halogen-contg. materials, eg. waste contg. Cl- ions at more than 850 (pref. 850-1250, esp. 1050-1150 deg C). The binder produced is also claimed.
