the high-voltage system has a driven AC generator (1) connected to a voltage supply (B). The AC generator creates a low normal voltage for the main electrical circuit. There is a transformer (7) alongside it to create a high voltage for a sub-electrical circuit. A revs.-dependent switch (6) switches the primary winding of the transformer to a static converter (10) connected to the voltage supply when the revs. fall below a set min. level. The transformer may be incorporated in the generator.
