The transmitting system includes a transmitter (12) which is fitted to a motor vehicle and sends electromagnetic waves (20) to an associated receiver (28) fitted to e.g. a door operating drive (26). The transmitter has an actuator (16) which is integrated into the vehicle (10) and which is operated by the driver. The actuator for the transmitter comprises a switch (18) which is fitted within reach of the driver and may be integrated with the opening switch for the headlights (30). The transmitter is not conductively coupled with the actuator, and may be radio operated.
