The heater has provision for the later installation of an additional heater element (3,4,5) having a U-shaped (6) construction in the exit path of the convected air in a space bounded on two sides by the surfaces (1,2) of the external housing. The enclosed tubular heater is secured at one end by a ceramic moulding (20) which slides on from the heater's connection (7,8) end and has a groove (23,24) engaging with a metal plate (25) fixed at right angles to the surface (2). The connection end (7,8) of the heater is fitted with silicone rubber bushes (14,15) located in the pierced (12,13) endplate (11) and the angle section (27) retains the ceramic moulding (20) in position.
