Snap-action latching mechanism for electrical switch

The electrical circuit breaker switch has a contact lever (11) that is held against a fixed contact (14) in one position and is operated by a toggle (2) input to open the contacts. The mechanical link between the toggle and the contact lever is provided by a link (F) that has a dead centre position such that the switch latches into position when the dead centre position is passed. The contact lever is pivot mounted (12) and has a roller at the tip that locates with clearance in a recess in the coupling link. A coil spring (15) provides the return action.
