Winch for docking trailers, especially onto combine harvesters

The winch has a windlass with a cable reel, which is driven directly from the end of the shaft of a hydraulic motor (6), without any intermediate gearing. The motor and the reel are mounted in a common housing. The housing is arranged on a prime mover, in the direct vicinity of a coupling for a trailer, and is installed either on the coupling or the chassis (5) of the prime mover. The winch motor may be powered by the existing hydraulic circuit on the prime mover, and its direction may be controlled by a three-position valve.
