The arrangement fastens a supporting foot (12) on a carrying rail to the roof (2) of a vehicle, and has an adapter (1) for each foot. The adapter has a first limb, which can be supported on the roof and on which the foot can be mounted and detached. Each adapter also has a second limb (5), which can be supported against an edge region (4) of the roof, and which is fixed to a side rail (9) of the roof by a fastener (7). The first limb may have a curvature (10) which forms a pocket- shaped opening (11) between the roof and the limb, in order to accept a hook (14) on a tensioning element (13) on the foot.
