The accelerator pedal (1), has a recess (2) for the adjusting screw (3) that is held in the recess by a nut (4) lying in a channel (5) running at right angles to the longitudinal axis of the recess. The adjusting screw is made with flats (6) to prevent rotation and also a flat (7) for the stop (8) when the pedal comes to rest in its extreme position. The amount of depression or movement of the pedal can then be set by turning the nut (4) and this alters the position of the screw relative to the stop.
