Process and installation to produce multiple strands in a continuous steel casting installation

The prodn. of multiple strips is by longitudinal division of an originally wide strip segment in the material flow after lateral strip division. A longitudinal division unit (15) with mechanical, chemical-physical or purely physical action is placed so far after the lateral division and allied equipment that only individual strip segments (1)-which no longer are joined to the strip-are lifted and transported by a carriage (7) over a roller conveyor (2) through a cutting station with the division unit (15), and are then returned to this conveyor.
