This invention describes a method for obtaining a conifer- based extract from a combination of plant products and water. This method is characterised in that it uses specific parts of the conifer of a certain age and species in precisely specified quantities. The extract obtained by the above method is used in the treatment of diseases of humans and animals such as cancer.
